Unable to find capture device

NextPVR suddenly stopped recording programs. If I try Live TV I get the message "Unable to find capture device". I can scan for channels and find new ones. I can update the EPG. I can't restart or stop the recording service, an error box appears. If I use the TV dongles original PVR, it will work. For new recording an empty folder is created, nothing in it, not even a zero byte sized file. I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it (it did not seem to uninstall as all settings were there again on reinstall).
Any hints or tips?
Thank you in advance.

There was another post on your device https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...test-build which indicated driver problems like your logs show

I checked out your link and to me it said to give up and go home. I was checking out whether there was an un-install NextPVR when I notice a "Reregister Filters" programme. I ran that, nothing else to loose, and a stream of error messages popped up.

All like the above but with different names to protect the guilty. The error message says to search for the error code online to find a fix. All online help recommend running RegSvr32 as an administrator and reregister the required dlls. So my question is, which dll's should I reregister with admin rights?
Should I reinstall NextPVR as an administrator?

Until you get drivers working outside NextPVR it won't work. How does the software that came with the device work?

The software that came with the device is BlazeDTV 6.0 and it works, kind of. When I start that programme I have to scan for channels each time. Once it starts to scan, the channels appear and then I stop scanning. To record a programme I have to leave BlazeDTV running as it won't start its self up with the channels operating (got to scan for channels each time). That was how things worked since installation and why I looked elsewhere, ie; NextPVR.
But it does play TV and record TV. That is why I can't understand why NextPVR stopped working. As far as I know there were no changes to the operating system. A couple of weeks ago I did upgrade NextPVR but it had been working after that upgrade.

Looking at the current recording service log, it looks liked the device was originally functioning (2018-11-18 through to 2018-11-27), then the device started returning this "Failed to start device: 0x8007000e" error each time NextPVR tried to use the device.

I suspect if you reboot, it'll probably start working again.

The couple of other times we've see users with this device in the past, it's seemed pretty buggy - which probably tallies up the behaviour you were describing in BlastDTV, and NextPVR.

If you find rebooting it helps, you might want to try scheduling your system to reboot a little more regularly.

Unfortunately I have rebooted many times since the problem started and still no relief. Since the day dot, if another program crashed, ie Videoredo, I would have to either restart the recording service or reboot the computer. The first symptom of a problem with NextPVR is a zero byte sized recording and this is what I first noticed when this problem started, only there was not even a zero byte sized program, just an empty folder created by NextPVR. I suspect Microsoft did an "upgrade" without me noticing (others use the computer when I am at work) and something critical was changed, just don't know what. I even installed Microsoft Media Center yesterday, and it can show the TV programmes, I haven't tried recording with it yet.
If it helps, my OS is Windows 10.0.17134 build 17134 64bit.

I'm happy to look at another set of logs - that only set of logs you'd posted had the recording service running for the last couple of weeks, without a restart.

I haven't seen any other reports of that sort of behaviour - it's possibly your machine or windows is in flakey state.

I just restarted my computer, tried to view live tv, attempted to record a tv show, and tried to restart the recording service.
The above is the error message from restarting the recording service and attached are the logs from doing all this things.
Hopefully something stands out as the problem.

I still can't see any sign in that log of the recording service having been restarted. Maybe try rerunning the installer.
