I've been using WMC on Windows 7 SP1 for a long time, and want to make the switch to NextPVR.
Ideally I will get NextPVR working on the same machine to ease the transition.
I downloaded NextPVR onto my W7 machine. I ran it and no devices appeared. All I could see was an IPTV device. I have a Hauppauge dual-tuner DVB-T device in dual-tuner mode (as opposed to diversity) and a PCTV device (DVB-T2) installed.
Thinking this was perhaps WMC "grabbing" the tuners (although live TV was not running, and nothing was recording), I stopped the WMC Receiver and Scheduler services, and re-booted. Nothing, still.
I then took out my laptop (running Windows 10), installed the Hauppauge device, and installed NextPVR. Immediately it saw two tuners, presumably because it's a dual-tuner device. I didn't go any further than that with my laptop, as it seemed to identify an issue with the other machine.
Plugging the tuner back into my WMC PC, I created a new user profile, uninstalled the tuners, uninstalled NextPVR, and then re-installed both. Still, nothing.
I have attached the log files from NextPVR and I have also run the FilterCheck tool and attached that log file.
I don't understand what the error means, but at least my tuners are clearly being looked at.
The only thing I will say is that my WMC W7 machine must be a 3-4 year old installation and I have continually been modifying the experience. So there will be a lot of history on that installation.
Can anybody offer me any troubleshooting steps, or am I doomed to a re-installation of the O/S?
Having done some research, my overall intent is to use NextPVR as the back-end for Kodi or Emby, with Amazon Firesticks deployed to the house TVs instead of my current Linksys Media Extenders. The idea is that this current PC will become the media back-end network server and live TV provider/scheduler/recorder. Any thoughts on that welcome too!
Thanks in anticipation for your help which is much appreciated.
