Season Folder Setting - What makes it Work?

Hi,

Was wondering how the Season Folder option actually works; and specficialy why it would not work in this instance?.
I recorded . am recording GoT S1 to S7

I expected seven (7#) Folders, namely Game of Thrones Season 1 ....Game of Thrones Season 7 with each season i.e. Game of Thrones S01E01.... S01E10 => S07E01...S07E10 within the respective folder.

What occured was simply 7 x 10 sets of recorded each with its own folder.

What is supposed to happen here i.e. do I need to change a setting other than what I changed in the settings (see attached)?

I will try to re-import those somehow, maube wiht IGL (hope that will work) or just a drag and drop and reimport.

Is it supposed to work on import? That would imply it moves files for you not just importing them. Igl won't move files either.

Sorry Martin, I probably wasn't clear; this is the way it recorded.
I will make the 7 folders and import the the shows to each myself later, but I wanted to avoid doing this for the next (and every) season record if there is a correct method I have missed, that does this in the first instance.

If your EPG has season data it will create or use season folders. However it is not perfect since it doesn't zero pad so long running shows like TBBT fail after season 9

Ah; most of these are back to back recording so that might be it. What a shame; maybe a new setting for future use. Happy to lsoe 30 seconds off each side.

What do you mean? Are meaning you'd want it to be S01, S02 etc, so that 2 digit seasons were in the correct sort order? (S09..S10..S11)

I'm not sure how you ended up with those results jksmurf - looking at the code, I can't see how it possibly made those directory names.

I'm away for a few more days, buy I can double check this stuff when I'm home.

You should end up with folders called "Game Of Thrones Season 01" etc.

@jksmurf are you using iGL to rename your files because you EPG data doesn't have season info. If so there will be no season folder.

Ok - I'll change it to default to zero pad.
