I tried to new version too. Now that I have a new TV that I can read without glasses (I guess the problem was more in my TV tan my eyes) I can play with skins with smaller text. I may some changes that are attached if you want to fold them into the main skin:
+ Added some missing composite images and rearranged the preview view in the video archive plug-in
+ skinned the weather plug-in's add weather codes dialog, rearranged the weather skin to work with long place names that can cause titles to be two lines long
+ took a first pass at skinning the music player plug-in

Note that I forgot to include the main skin.xml file in the attached zip file for the music player plug-in. You can simply copy the skin.xml file from the blue skin. All the skin.xml file does is define the button name; it has no graphical elements. In the next build of the music player I have made the plug-in use defaults if this file is missing.

droopy, it should work now.

finally.... i managed to upload this new version to the wiki. included is the music player (thanks to jeff) and a video-archiver-tweak and updated weather plugin (jeff, too...)

the next steps will be more plugins of course (please post your favourites) and reworked popup-screens.

Attached is a replacement skin for the jukebox function of the music player plugin.

It is much the same as the issued one but re-positions the list so that all 10 items are on screen at the same time

I have also attached a screen shot of how it looks, sorry but I dont know how to get it to display inline, perhaps someone could explain.

thanks to dottore for the skin and Jeff for the music player plugin

to use simply copy the file to the musicplayer folder and remove the txt suffix from the filename, [you might want to copy the existing one first incase you decide you dont like this one]

Tkgafs

If you have one attachment only, such as the jpg one, it will display inline. But with more than one attachment, they will show up as links Smile

or.. use IMG tags with a url to load the image file from another server...

hope that helps.

I thought I'd share some screen shots of a handful of boo boos (for lack of a better word) that I found throughout the MCE2 interface. I've been using it extensively since the last release and I absolutely love it. These screen shots were taken from my HTPC which only has MS Paint installed so they are rather large (which is why I used links instead of directly pasting them into the post.)

1) This first screen shot illustrates the overlap of two buttons (Delete and Cancel) on the recordings screen.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/d...Error1.jpg

2) The second screen shot illustrates the overlap of the clock and date panels on the main screen. I believe this is only a problem when a combination of days and months with long names are used.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/d...Error2.jpg

3) The third screen shot is more of an aesthetics issue than anything else. If you look at the top of the picture, you'll notice that the Artist Name, Song Name, and Song Timer have no spacing whatsoever between them. I'm wondering if it would be better to shorten the song list area and move the CD Photo and Song Data below the song list. (Am I making sense?)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/d...Error3.jpg

4) The fourth screen shot illustrates another aesthetic issue on the Search Guide screen. Specifically, there isn't an underlay (?) present as there usually is with most other unhighlited menu buttons/options.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/d...Error4.jpg

5) The fifth screen shot illustrates yet another aesthetics issue, this time on the Weather Screen. If you view the Weather in Forecast view it's somewhat difficult to differentiate between each listed forecast especially on smaller TV's through the MVP. I'd like to suggest an underlay (?) be placed on the second and fourth forecast data similar to what is currently used for unhighlighted buttons.

There may be one or two other minor issues here and there but I can't seem to remember where they are (plus the wife is bugging me to use the front room TV... ) I'll post more if I remember them.

I have updated the weather skin to address point 5. At the same time I squeezed another day in so it now shows 5 days rather than 4.
