Lao Pan. I foolishly commented on another thread that I wasn't seeing the update EPG problem on my system. Ah well.... having been away for the past month and remote accessing the EPG to programme recordings for the wife, I'd seen no problems until I returned home on the 9th May and noticed a couple of channels with "No Show Details".
Since the system hadn't been rebooted for a long time, I thought a restart would be beneficial so did that and then initiated a Manual EPG update. After a couple of minutes, NPVR.exe exited. Not seen that behaviour before.

Restarted NPVR interface and run Manual EPG update again. This time it seemed to complete although in a much shorter time than normal. The missing EPG data was now filled in so all seemed good.....till this morning.
Some channels EPG data missing again.
Ran manual EPG update and NPVR.exe bombed out again after a couple of minutes.

At this point I check the NPVR logs and find no errors at all, just an end to the log at the time of the crash. I also noted ndigitalhost-22's log not showing any trace of my manual EPG update (and that's the tuner always used).

Looking in the windows application logs, I now see for the past few days an error being reported from ndigitalhost at the time of both the scheduled EPG update and the manual ones also the crashes of NPVR.exe
It looks like the error in ndigitalhost during the manual scan takes out NPVR.exe.

I'll see it I can get the windows application event log files and add them to this thread (will have to wait for a certain person to stop watching recordings).

Thank you chaps. Most channels get EPG data from an xml file. A few used to get epg from DVB/ATSC. I changed those few so I now have no channels getting epg from DVB/ATSC. The re-scheduling ran after the epg update. My guide is now displaying pending recordings in glorious technicolor.

I'll attempt some diagnostic work during the next few days.

Had the "missing highlight" this morning and a single keypress moved the cursor right or left from the pending recording to the next show. The recording also appeared correctly on the Pending Recordings screen.

Had an interesting scenario this past weekend which may throw some light on this. Schedules Direct for the UK seem to update their listings once a week on a Friday, so on a Friday I get 15 days, on the Saturday I get 14 days and so on.
This means that on Fri 17 May, I had listings up to Fri 31 May and Sat 01 June says "To be announced". On Thu 23 May I still had listings up to Fri 31 May and Sat 01 June says "To be announced".
On Friday 31 May 15 days had been picked up and the "Pending recordings" screen had shows going forward up until Fri 07 June. However, when I accessed the TV Guide, all the programs for 01 June onwards still showed "To be announced". However, the timeline at the top of the screen showed red at the time of a pending recording. I quit and re-started the front end and everything was fine (I am running vanilla NPVR on a stand-alone machine).
This suggests to me that the new guide data is being collected but the the TV guide is for some reason not loading/displaying the new version.
Logs attached.

There are changes coming in v5 that make the guide changes more dynamic. If you wait in v4 it will probably change but it could take an hour.
