I didn't give it much thought when I first saw it, but I'm getting this type of file with each new recording.

Please, what is a ...ts.map file and can I hide it somewhere?

Thanks.
Later...JohnC

Sorry, it's a actually a little bit of NextPVR v5 that leaked back into v4 when I did the last release. I'll do a an updated build in the next week or two that removes it.

No worries. It goes away when the recording completes.

What's it for?

When you're recording or watching live tv, there is normally some shared memory, used by nextpvr.exe, nrecord.exe and ndigitalhost.exe, that holds shared state information about how the recording is progressing (file sizes, slip file names etc). For compatibility with Linux/Mac that shared memory needs to be a memory mapped file (kind of the same thing, but with a file that also backs the data). That's the file you're seeing.

Thanks for that, sub. I have used memory-mapped files quite extensively in a past life. Quite useful!

Similar to this...
I use the information contained in the <programme name>.xml file to automatically create preview jpg and mp4 files. It would be nice if these files were created at the start of recording rather than at termination. Could this be incorporated into version 5?

Yeah, I should be able to do that in v5.
