Not sure if its worth mentioning, but using NPVR v5 through the Emby plugin to Emby and to Emby on a Fire TV, twice I've started playing TVNZ1 (coincidentally ?) and its just stopped playing after a (indeterminate) while. After that I can't tune again on the Fire TV cos NPVR server seems to have crashed. If I start it again, then I can carry on with TVNZ1. It might be after the server has been running for a few days.

So, not sure if you'd want any logs, or if they would show anything seeing as the server has been restarted ?

Yeah, I'd probably need the logs, and time it happened to really be able to tell what happened.

Perhaps also anything logged in the Windows event viewer.

If you don't have the logs or time, keep note of the time next time it happens, and grab a copy of the logs at the time.

I'll attach this just in case. It crashed at 8am-ish, so 2 hours ago. The news just started on breakfast tv on TVNZ1.

If you want anything from Windows Event Viewer, please advise, never used it before and opening it is as far as I've got.

It looks like the device stopped delivering data about 8:03am and I assume Emby timed out after a few and disconnected. It's not entirely clear why it stopped delivering data though - there is no device.log covering that time.

By device you mean tuner card ?

Does it seem strange that I had to restart the server ? Usually its sitting as an icon in the task bar but I went to check after live tv stopped working and it wasn't there. Would 'device stopping delivering data' cause the server to (apparently) crash ? Unless its coincidence somehow.

Yes

Yes, it is odd you had to restart the server after it had a problem - that might have been because of the 'keep digital tuners primed'. Capture the logs next time it happens though, and I'll take another look. Hopefully the device.log will contain some more clues.

Roger Wilco.

(was trying not to mention the 'keep tuners primed' thing, wouldn't like you to have to get rid of it...)

btw am wondering if that log showed anything about something being recorded. Windows was complaining about my C: drive being full, and apparently its been recording an iptv channel (presumably TVNZ1, though forgot to check) since 7.30 this morning. Seems strange as can't see anywhere about any scheduled recordings for that.
