Super fast forwind

Sometimes I have to skip 1 or 2 hours in a movie. Currently, the only option is to press the next button, or press FF. This takes ages.
I would like to see an option where you can pause the movie, and then use the BW and FF keys to skip trough the timeline very fast, like 5 mins a go. Pictures are shown when you release the button.
Even nicer would be an option where one would enter the desired time to skip to

You know you can easily skip foward any amount of time right? If you press 6-0-skip, then it'll jump forward 60 minutes.

Agreed...it's the getting those features implemented in a way that's intuitive and easily accessible to the end users that takes a lot of extra work that isn't at all interesting to a developer (trust me, I know).

This thread reminds me of the one I made a month ago, wishing for more robust fast forwarding/rewinding behavior. (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7668) I'd say that customizable shortcuts would be much higher on my wishlist, though. I've been itching to change fast-forward and rewind to match Windows Media Player's shortcuts, along with next/previous. It would be great to be able to use a single set of emulated keystrokes for all applications on my HTPC remote control!

Intuitive is a subjective term, not an absolute. To me, GBPVR's behavior was intuitive. I simply tried what seemed like something that should work and, in this case, it worked exactly as I thought it would. I didn't have to read a manual or anything, it just worked the way I expected, which is the text-book definition of intuitive.

I do see what you mean, it is probably intuitive to many, and it's certainly easily accessible. I wouldn't have figured it out on my own, but I'm not the type to try things I don't know will work or haven't done before. Then again, I'm the sort of programmer who still uses the mouse for navigating Windows, because I'm too lazy to use the hotkeys.
