I run XP Home Edition and I have F-Secure installed. All of the installations are standard.

When starting any of the TV services, I get error messages that are triggered by the GBPVRRecordingService not being started. In the Service settings in the Control Panel, this service is marked as "automatic", but when restarting the machine the service is stopped. If starting the service manually or if I manually update the EPG, the TV and recording functions will start and work fine, but this is quite cumbersome of course.

I assume that either F-Secure or a security setting in Windows prevents the service from autostarting or running continuously?

Does anyone have any tips on how to make sure that this service starts automatically?

Thanks! Joakim

Is there a start up icon that is supposed to be in there? I think I deleted mine.

not for the service (if a service is automatically started when windows loads is defined in the service-controll app (control pannel --> administrative tools --> services).

however, there is a shortcut to the GBPVRTray application in the startup-folder. the tray app allows you to restart the service or update epg with a mousclick and let you see the status of your truner-card(s).

Does that do anything? If so, where is it so I can get the shortcut back into my start up folder.

well... the only thing that comes to my mind (IIRC) is the pvrtray-app starts the recordingstatus.bat-file in the gbpvr-directory when a status of a tuner changes and the file actually exists.

the app itself is in your gbpvr-home directory (e.g. c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\) and is called 'GBPVRTray.exe'
