Hi, I solved the problem by opening regedit and by keying in the frequencies from my operator's page (Casema) manually into KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS31-1. Now all the cable channels are tuned properly in GB-PVR.

By the way, I have a PVR-150 and I use cable.

Thanks for your help.

I realize you have solved your problem already, but maybe others can use this: instead of manually editing the registry, may I suggest you create a text file with your channel lineup and use a little tool to convert that into a registry file? Check the GBPVR Wiki here for details.

Hi, I'm also having trouble with 1 or 2 of my channel lineup. I tried searching in regedit for the key KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune but I can't find it. Please help.

Am running PVR-500mce on XP SP2

BTW, everything is working except for those off-tuned channels.

If it's not there you may be from, or living in, one of those Countries that do not have standard settings.

I added this http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...elMappings to the wiki a while ago, perhaps that can help you too.

1. What the fellows above are saying is, you have to MAKE this key, and input the key data.
2. What they are also saying is you can EITHER do this manually, or use the Tools in the WIKI or you canmake a text file (e.g. Copy the data YOU want to add into MyPresets.txt), then change the extension from .txt to .reg double click and away you go, the key is there in the registry.

e.g. Everything BETWEEN and NOT including the lines

==================================================
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS44-0]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS44-0]

"49"=dword:28F78E74
"51"=dword:29EBB274
"53"=dword:2ADFD674
"55"=dword:2BD3FA74

==================================================

Where TSXX-Y where XX = Country Code (e.g. 0 for US, 44 for UK and Y=0 for Broadcast and 1 for Cable).

This will REMOVE any existing key TS44-0, ADD a new key TS44-0, ADD 4 channels numbered 49, 51, 53 and 55 and assign them frequencies in HEX of the above values. If you want to easily convert Binary to Hex, in Excel use the function =DEC2HEX(BINARYNUMBER). (btw in Excel you need to have the Analysis toolpack add-in turned on to use Dec2hex or Hex2dec).

For more details see this thread, which I jotted down for a Hong Kong set of ferquencies but the IDEA is the same. Also contains a spreadsheet, but you don't really need it.

Hi, thank you for your assist. I have added the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\ TS63-1

With (63) representing my country and 1 for cable, is this correct.

Also added a DWORD

"17" = DWORD:7f162e0 (HEX)

In GBPVR Config, I have chosen USA (NTSC)

In theory, the way I understand it is if I run GBPVR, it will get it's frequency for channel 17 from the DWORD from the key added to registry. Is this correct.

My next question, will be do you know of any software for XP2 not XP MCE that will help pinpoint the exact frequency without computing. Something perhaps with a slider so I can get exact frequency I need. Tried the Tuning Assistant bundled with GBPVR and I always get the same frequency that is totally distorted.

I also use TVxb facility to generate EPG data, will the above key affect it effectivity. So far, everything works fine except for these 2 channels that are off.

Thanks a lot

Sounds OK BUT see below. It "would" work, IF the Phillippines was in GBPVR. it;s not. btw you have a <SPACE> before TS63, which I don't think should be there.

fhmanas Wrote:Also added a DWORD

Your Freq is 133260000, right?

fhmanas Wrote:In GBPVR Config, I have chosen USA (NTSC)

Nope, I don't think this will work. USA is TS0. So if you choose US in GBPVR ...it will LOOK for US in the reg key and NOT find it. IF your country (Phillippines, with Code 63) is NOT in the GBPVR config (which it is not), then simply find a country that has the SAME TV System e.g. USA (so you can choose THAT system in GBPVR) and make the KEY for THAT Country, then choose that country in GBPVR.

NOTE that you need to CHECK that it is not ALREADY in the reg. with assigned channels. The above is what I did. I live in Hong Kong, but as HK has Pal I = UK, I setup a Key for the UK and chose that.

yes.

Like I wrote in the WIKI, use the program that came with your card, FIND the ini or cfg or whatever file it creates AFTER IT has scanned (and FOUND) channels. If that "native" program cannot find channels, the GBPVR will NOT either. Get it running in your native program first, then snaffle the frequencies from that.

Hope you get it working, I have to go to bed now. past midnight.

Cheers
