That didn't show anything that helps I didn't see a recording other than confirm the need to remux.

There is no reason that I see that this should fail https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid532298 from the command line unless 10 seconds isn't enough.

Does GET_SIZE always return 0?

On the NextPVR side if you bump the delay up to 13 seconds does that change anything in NextPVR Live TV?

When I removed -v panic,   should the line in opendct.sh read:

ffmpeg -re -i "$nextname" -f mpegts -codec copy -

or

ffmpeg -re -i "$nextname" -f mpegts -codec copy    (without the last - )

What do you mean by Does GET_SIZE always return 0?  Which command would this be from and where do I look for it?  Sorry for my ignorance.

You need the trailing dash.

One of the lines in the batch file you were testing shows the file size after the delay I was wondering if it was always zero. I might make it part of the logic

After numerous attempts to get live TV to display, I rebooted the server and then on the first try in the web app, the show can right up and began playing (channel 132). I stopped it and started it again 3 times, and each time it worked. I then tried to view channel 190 and it failed. Then I went back to 132 again and now it's consistently failing. Any thoughts Martin?,

I would check ps -AF to see if NextPVR is leaving the extra running.

There doesn't appear to be.

I keep seeing recording going for 18 seconds.  As soon as the recording stops, the error is shown on the nextpvr screen

I cant help but think this is caused by NextPVR dropping the extra too early. Are you sure you can't test this with a real client?

I guess I could.  But I saw any client costs money and since I really want to use this with Emby, I didn't want to spend money on a client I don't really need.  It's getting late so I will take this up again tomorrow and consider buying a client if it will help get this working.

If NPVR is dropping the extra early, would taht be sending something back to the R5000 to tell it to stop the recording?  Would that be making the recording stop?

Yes stopping ffmpeg will cause a stop

I didn't think about that. My Nvidia Shield has Kodi on it. What do I need to set up on Kodi to test NextPVR?
