Yes I did chmod on the new opendctsh file and the r5000.py.  Also pu IP and port of the R5000 in and the values of openname and nextname.  Attached latest logs

Ok you didn't didn't edit r5000.sh so we can ignore that it should be the same as opendct.py anyway.

The NextCon app seems to respond to the commands from opendct.py but it also reports the file isn't growing for 10 seconds. Do you see the command logged on the Windows server? If so you might have to bump up the end time in opendct.py to seconds=15 or more until data starts flowing.

I just wanted to run a quick sanity check just to make sure my R5000 was still working.  So I ran the opendct.sh from the other day as follows:

python3 opendct.py START R5ooo-HD 132 /mnt/R5000_Recordings/todays_test-on-the-r5000 server

It is recording on the NextCom app and the file continues to grow.

I then ran the same command but using r5000.py and recording does not start:

python3 r5000.py START R5ooo-HD 132 /mnt/R5000_Recordings/todays_test-on-the-r5000 server

Now I get:

timed out

Since you didn't configure it won't work. What we were are trying to see now is the file growing in opendct.sh

In my previous post I hadn't configured r5000.sh, because I had taken that file you provided and renamed it as the new opendct.sh.  Here I am referring to r5000.py, which I have configured with the IP and port of the R5000 (192.168.1.16 and port 6969).  Is there something else in the r5000.PY that needs to be changed?  Since I changed the Ip and port, shouldn't that command "python3 r5000.py START R5ooo-HD 132 /mnt/R5000_Recordings/todays_test-on-the-r5000 server" start the recording in the same way the call to opendct.py does?

I am assuming the opendct.sh is calling r5000.py so I am not sure what is going on with the the test line.
