Not yet, but the changes I submitted recently where made to be portable so that I can easily call transcoding api. I need to investigate how sub does transcoded timeshift he recently implemented to see if that is also possible.
Not this fix will be for v5 using Matrix, although I am make some custom builds available for Leia if there is interest. There is just not enough multi-platform testing to justify formally trying to include this in Leia. Martin

That will be great, many thanks. I just need this when on the go so I can install and work with matrix on my laptop :-)

@aderlopas, I pretty much have this ready to submit, just trying to finalize setup. Basically I allow standard resolutions "1080|720|576|480|360" and allow bitrates from 0.5 to 4MB in .5 MB increments, above that I figure why bother transcoding. Would that cover your traveling scenario?
Also note that this interface won't currently work with IPTV, I thought it was was a transcoding API but it is designed more for sub's own web browser client and it doesn't transcode IPTV. Martin

That is great, many thanks @mvallevand, I believe that at least 360p should work for the worst possibilities of Internet that I may find during my travels. and 4K my laptop screen does not support anyway

Actually the size isn't going to be important as the bitrate. Are 0.5 increments ok for the slider or would you rather play with 0.25 values?

Should we try and standardize it somehow? For instance I have found that this is what Google recommends below in their Youtube Live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions pages: 240p 360p 480p 720p 1080p Resolution 426 x 240 640 x 360 854x480 1280x720 1920x1080 Video Bitrates Maximum 700 Kbps 1000 Kbps 2000 Kbps 4000 Kbps 6000 Kbps Recommended 400 Kbps 750 Kbps 1000 Kbps 2500 Kbps 4500 Kbps Minimum 300 Kbps 400 Kbps 500 Kbps 1500 Kbps 3000 Kbps

For size I decided to use 216-1080 in 72 increments which is good for "real" 16:9. Looking at these I think will use use .250 increments for the bit rate and you can let us know what works for you.

Many thanks Martin, I'll try it out as soon as I will be able to make kodi 19 work on my laptop....so far it dies when I try to run it after installation...
