poor sound quality on dvd's

I sometimes burn recorded tv shows onto dvd usins the my videos plugin. The end result is excellent video quality but poor qualtity, tinny & hollow sound.
If i play back the recording from hard drive it is perfect sound so it must be losing quality in the authoring process somewhere.
Any ideas anybody?

I'm not sure if I've got the same problem exactly but it's certainly similar. I also get good quality video but distorted sound, although I wouldn't say it was tinny.

Run the DVD on windows media player--is it the same problem?
