@arbee99 when you installed the current version I know you changed the install directory.  Did you remove the old one and make sure your shortcuts to NextPVR.exe and the tray app are correct.

When I installed the new version, it went into a NextPVR directory, so I removed the old NPVR directory. It was a week or two ago, but I'm pretty sure I had to update the links in the Start menu, as Windows said it couldn't find the item the menu item referred to, and did I want to delete it. And a new NextPVR app came with the new install in the NextPVR directory.

I have shortcuts for the server, the app and the web app. And now that I've checked the items in the start menu they link to file locations in C:\Program Files\NextPVR and C:\Program Files\NextPVR\client.

Well, yes, I guess.
Downloaded them and unzipped both.  One was a .dll and the other an .ax file.
My guess was they were to be placed in the nextpvr folder?  Ran program and it kicked out back to the main menu in a few minutes.
What should they have done?

Is yours the same as arrbee99's, in that you can stop the service, and manually run NextPVRServer.exe, then it works ok?

Well, if I understand correctly if the server is not running nothing works.  I have not turned the server off.

No, I'm saying stop the "NextPVR Service" in the Windows control panel, and manually run NextPVRServer.exe. (ie, running it as a regular process on the desktop instead of as a service - this seems to get around the "error access denied" problem that is happening)

I just hope it doesn't turn out to be me doing something dumb, wouldn't be the first time, or the second, or the...

Especially as I seem to be (possibly) the only one.

I don't really need them. If it played past 1/3 of the live tv buffer, that fix is working.

Well????......In task manager I found under the services tab NPVR Recording Service listed as running.  If that is what you mean then no problem stopping it.  But, I have searched everywhere looking for the program NextPVRServer.exe to run.  Not in any NPVR folders or sum folders.  Where is it hiding?
