System:
Win 7
HDHomerun Extend
NextPVR (fresh install)

Symptom:
"Update EPG" - displays TV guide for the next 2 hours. After that "no show details"
EPG guide in Samsung TV (with the same OTA feed) shows data for next several days.

Solved: In HDhomerun app, changed BDA compatibility from "NextPVR" to "MediaPortal"

If the Samsung is hooked up to ATSC is probably getting more than the now/next feed. You might be able to increase the scan time in NextPVR. Or you can turn NextPVR into a real PVR by subscribing to Schedules Direct.

It looks more complicated... Idea

My guess as to why you're only getting partial data with the filter on is that the application is adding the first EIT and ETT PIDs, but never adds the additional ones, but will process the data from those PIDs if they are present in the stream. If the developers of that applications are interested in their application getting full data with the PID filter enabled, they would need to use the MapPID method...

Same thread, 5th post:
Quote:This isn't HDHomeRun specific as such, but most PCI and USB tuners don't support PID filtering so they work even if the app doesn't request PIDs correctly.

That's good news.

NPVR should display same amount of info as that TV or converter box. It's obvious that subscription to low-cost television program listing service is needed for more...

SiliconDust's "MediaPortal" setting is also the recommended solution for more serious issues. My only concern is how discouraging their "NextPVR" setting must be for newbies. Would it be better if SiliconDust had no "NextPVR" setting? Probably not: Newbies might just switch to MediaPortal without ever posting here about their issues (as I'm sure some of them already do).

An interesting question is how our in-band EPG might change when ATSC 3.0 becomes commonplace,
