The last logs narrowed it down to a specific line of code, it's not clear why that one line of code would be hanging. It does not look possible.

I've attached an updated NShared.dll that tries to do the same thing a different way, in hopes that it doesn't have the same issue.

Logs please if it still happens.

Sub, I installed the new .dll but it gave me this error when I tried to start the service

Sorry, you'll probably need to reinstall the previous version I supplied you, and wait until the next release before retrying.

Ok

I found another lockup this morning, but didn't get any logs because of the time delay but It also left a .ts.map file and no .xml.  Could this be related to the fact I'm recording to a NFS share?  

If you recall, I had a problem with live TV not properly rolling over the files when I had the livetv folder mapped to a NFS share
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=59746.  In that instance we never found a root cause, but moving the livetv folder back into the VM solved that problem. sorta...  I'm still getting a lot of artifact files left in the folder.  Not sure. but they might also be related to the problem here.  I'll keep an ey on it and see if when I get a live TV lockup it also leaves an artifact here in the livetv folder.  This just back to February, I have on occasion cleaned out the folder as you can see, it starts to take quite a bit disk space in  the VM.

Yes, potentially. It was in a file system call at the time it hung.

It'd be worth seeing if you can reproduce the problem with just using the local file system.

At this point I'm just going to wait for the new version and start with a fresh VM.

Besides npvr.db3 & config.xml in the  /var/opt/nextpvr/ folder is there anything else I need to copy over to get my settings and stuff back up?

That should be pretty much it.

Sub, spun up a new 18.04.4 LTS VM, installed V5.0.2.200322 and imported npvr.db3 & config.xml.  It's been running a a couple days now with the NFS share for recordings.  Despite my best efforts, no lock ups yet.  Not sure if it was something you did in the code, or maybe something wonky in the old VM, but it appears to be solid now. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if any more problems crop up.
