Giday,  just been trying out Nextpvr 5, after using working Version 4.

Bit of a learning curve, but I have all my channels configured, but for the life of me, I can not get IR Blasting working.
First off, does Nextpvr5 support IR Blasting?

I have Nextpvr 4 still installed, but just stopped the V4 service and it's tray utility.
I installed Nextpvr 5, configured the devices and channels etc.

I have DVB-T Tuners, and Hauppauge Colossus.   I imported an xmltv file, and configured location of blaster executable and parameters.
I assumed it would just use the same commands I use in V4, which are in my Program Files (x86)\NPVR folder, and I have a Blast.cmd file, and HaupBlast.exe in that folder.   I created a folder called NPVR5,and installed Nextpvr 5 into that.

I could see no way to select correct channel numbers inside the web config, so instead had to edit my tvguide.xml file to change the default channel ID's to match my STB's channel numbers.

All the DVB-T channels work, but the STB channels will not IR blast.
Instead, it starts playback of the last channel the STB was on.

Is it possible to edit blaster executable config after initial import?
I am sure there is a way, but it does not seem very intuitive to me, after using Version 4.

I had the same problem, fixed it with help. See here. https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60582

Thankyou very much for the reply.

So, if I understand the postings you referenced...…. the fix to my issue is one of permissions?
I need to move my blaster script and blaster executable into the V5 NPVR data directory?

Yep NPVR-data. Worked for me.
Plus modify any paths IN those scripts if they are fixed (to /NPVR/)

Okay, did another huge mess around... still could not make my blaster batch file work to activate IR blasting for my STB.
Seems to not run my CMD executable script called 'Blast.cmd'  which basically runs 'HaupBlast.exe' with some delays.

If I just use HaupBlast.exe as executable, and ' {channel}"  as parameter, it all works, tho changing channels causes issues, as the delay script contained in 'Blast.cmd' is not being called, so I lose audio when changing channels on STB.

Just can not seem to get cmd.exe to work with Nextpvr5.  The issue I had before seems to have little or nothing to do with whether or not HaupBlast.exe is in the NPVR-Data directory.  It more appears to me that NPVR5 can not process CMD.exe batch scripts in the device import configuration.
(can someone confirm this?)

You could try to delete and readd one channel with the executable string and parameters?

OK, sorta got it working just using HaupBlast.exe by itself.
Reset the PC, and now channel changes on the STB seem to be working fine so far, and retaining audio between channel changes.

Will give it a good test and see how it goes.
If anyone has any ideas where I am going wrong using cmd.exe, I would appreciate any pointers.

Thanks again..

For the avoidance of doubt ... The most recent build of NextPVR V5 uses an installer program so you don't need to cretae a folder before the install ...
