Hi,
New to NextPVR. I have a HDHomerun 4 tuner version, Channels over DVB-C, and I do not get any EPG data.
HDHomerun player do have it, as it can show what is currently running. Unless it is using the cloud.

Tried clearing / updating EPG. No luck.

Alternatively, how can I use free guides from xmltv.se ? http://xmltv.xmltv.se/

Side question, how do I lower the logging level in the terminal Window from ffmpeg ?  I get lots of ffmpeg stuff on some channels, EXTINF3, frame decode error etc. I don't see anything that looks like ffmpeg path in the config where I could add flags.

Another question, changing channels takes a long time - and I can see bytes buffering up. I really do not need any buffering, as it is realtime.. VLC does it much faster. In the config.xml I see <HDPVRBufferLonger>false</HDPVRBufferLonger> - So it is set to soemwhat shorter buffering.

This is result of a scanning:

First post full logs not snippets and install NextPVR using the installer to run as a service on WIndows is a much better experience. I know sub has been working on enhancing OTA EPG from the HDHR not sure of the status for DVBC

Regarding tuning the web browser is a transcoding player not designed for quick tuning from non IPTV streams. Try the speed from the native player or Kodi to find the real speed.

Once that gets done we can tackle xmltv

I am not on Windows, but OS-X, for now native, but could move to docker, and thus Linux

If DVB-C EPG not working well, then I guess I will have to start fetching XML programming. Guess https://github.com/XMLTV/xmltv is where to start. Then I assume I must map every single channel in some way ? Or get one XML per channel ?

For now, I just want the software for scheduled recordings. Just wondered why - when I said avoid transcoding, it buffers so much.

I would start with a Schedules Direct trial and see if you like it for Sweden. It is pretty cheap and might save you some configuration.

Sub will need to comment on HDHR OTA EPG support outside windows.

Web browsers can only play very limited types of content, and insist on buffering like 8 seconds of content before they start playback (and when it's coming from a tuner card, it's going to take at least 8 seconds to generate that 8 seconds of content).

In reality if you want quicker channel change times, you'd need to a different client. (like nextpvr.exe, or kodi, or the appletv app etc...where transcoding is not required)

Your DVB-C channels will not be broadcasting in a format that web browsers can play, so it needs to do this transcoding for play back in the web app. The 'Avoid transcoding where possible' setting only really helps where the content is already in a format that can be played by a web browser. ie, like IPTV channels etc.

The web app is great for most things, but if you need faster channel changing, you really need to look at other clients. This is just how web apps are - they can't play most of the broadcast audio/video standards used on DVB-C.

If you can do an 'update EPG', then post your logs, I'll check what's happening.

DVB EPG support for the 'HDHR' is brand new in the release a few days ago, and there could be some scenario I'm missing or something.

Even more countries could be supported with this built-in service.
NextPVR supports three broad types of EPG sources.

No additional accounts are needed for in-app purchases—subscriptions from mobile clients.

Interesting option would be to set reminder for certain data_person(even on channels accessible on only on cable box).

It's not clear what you're suggesting. This tv service isn't providing free listings. Like GraceNote and other similar services, this is for commercial partnerships where companies pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for TV listing data... (in case it's not clear - NextPVR gets about $2000 of donations per year, so there is no way it's paying $200,000+ per year for data)

Hi,

I think I've got the same problem: no EPG ("update EPG" gives me 0 insert/update) with my HD HomeRun.
Please find my logs attached.

I hope it's okay to post in this thread, I didn't make a new as it seems really similar.

Thank you

nrecord.log appears to show that the scan ends on each frequency after only 6 of the usual 60 seconds ... I don't know why ...
