Hi, new to this forum.
Had WMC, having to move now so am trying NextPVR. Installed v5 ok on my older Win 8.1 Pro machine but none of my TBS tuners are detected. Eventually decided to uninstall and install v4 and it immediately detects all tuners and so far appears to work fine. There is obviously some issue in v5 that will not detect TBS6285 and TBS 6982 cards. Have done quick search on forums for 'tuner not detected' but get nothing back. Is there a known issue here or have I missed a step. I am assuming v5 will be the more advanced version so would be nice to get that running but I cannot get past the basic install at the moment. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!

Post the logs and I'll check why.

Hi, thanks. As I have now installed v4, is it still possible to install v5 simultaneously to get some logs or is that not possible and I will have to uninstall v4 first?

I guess you could temporarily stop v4, install v5, collect them logs, then uninstall v5 and restart v4

hi, just tried to run v5 install after stopping v4 and I got an exception saying 'central directory corrupt' and something about a pointer trying to point beyond range. I then thought that may be due to v4 so uninstalled that anyway and tried again but get the same error. Is there something wrong with the central v5 repository your end or is this something on my system after having installed v4 beforehand?

I just got the same install error ... It expect that normal service will be resumed at the start of New Zealand's tomorrow.

Download the updated installer and try again. (if you get the same error, your browser is probably using the previous version still, and you can force the new one to be download by adding some stuff to the url... https://nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup.exe?x=2)

Hi, have now got round to re-trying the v5 installer and this time it ran up ok. To my surprise it then went ahead and detected all my tuners correctly so either something has changed on my system of something in the latest version of NPVR has been fixed. Either way it is now working. I have now also installed Kodi on top of this and it seems to connect and work fine with the v5 server. I suspect I may not use the NPVR client that much so will be sticking with the v5 server now. Is it the case that at some point soon, support for v4 of the server will come to an end?

Great.

Yes. I'm still trying to answer questions about v4 at this stage, but there will be no new v4 builds posted, and unlikely to be any bug fixes posted for it.
