Hello,

like i wrote in this thread: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60750

The EPG still loses Data over night. Also a manuell update in this situation fails, i need to reboot the PC, to get the EPG update working again.

Strange is, that already downloaded information is also lost.

Version: 5.0.4.200428

Attached is a current screenshot, and the Logfiles.

OK, i will try. But i think the problem is something else. When this happens, also the manual update does not work at all. It starts, and after a few secondes it says it is finished, and nothing is inserted. It looks like NPVR can not connect to the mux.

After a reboot is runs normal.

So it just seems like after standby there is no connection to the mux possible. I think that is the problem, not the scantime. Simply because after a reboot everything works, but after standby (or just running as it controls itself) not.

Additionally i do not understand why already downloaded information is getting lost. Al channels have a minimum of 5-7 days EPG. Some channels for 14 days. If this happens, also the information that was already downloaded is lost.

After rebooting -> update -> EPG exists for, lets say 7 days.

Next morning -> no information anymore. Why? I should just not update, but not lose all information.

Please ... reboot to reset the logs ... put the computer to sleep ... wait two minutes (because you can) ... wake the computer .... do a manual EPG Update ... post the logs.  Thanks.

This is more a questions for sub and not logs since the overnight scan seems to show problem stations with just 2 listings, likely the now/next info.

Hello sub.

I will try. Problem for reproduktion: It does not always happen. Sometime every night. Sometimes it is OK for 2-4 days. The only thing i found out: The TV-Card works, if the problem exists. I can watch live tv, without problems. Also recordings work. So only the EPG data stream cannot be decoded.

I will exchange the NShared.dll right now, and keep you updated. I will check every morning, to see if it happend again, and post the logs.

Yep, that's fine - run it for a few days and let me know.

One question to the EPG Update:

- I left the update on default. That is 02:44 at night.
- Does the NPVR wake up the PC to do the update? I just looked at the log file, were all the wakeups are listed for recordings, but no listing for the EPG Update
- And the depending question: Does NPVR ensure that the PC does not go into standby while the EPG update runs? It is not seen as a recording, in the tray app, so that tray app will not prevent that, i think. If something here goes wrong (standby while updating, this perhaps could leed to the corrupt data in the EPG listing?

Yes, it requests a wake up. You'll see a nrecord.log message like this:

Code:
2020-05-04 08:06:31.017    [DEBUG][13]    Requesting wake up for 'EPG-UPDATE' [EPG Update] at 5/05/2020 3:00 am

Yes, it tries to keep the system awake during an EPG update.

The tray doesn't provide any role in the power management tasks, with the exception of overriding a users manual request to put a machine into standby while a recording is happening. Scheduling wake ups, and telling Windows the machine is still in use (so that it doesn't go to sleep by itself), all happens in the NextPVR Service.
