hello,
I am having a little annoying problem with GBPVR that i do not have with TV2000.
My TV is a Sony 16:9 that is able to stretch a 4:3 image to 16:9.
But on the bottom of the GBPVR image there appears to be a white line and my TV set thinks this is part of the image so it scales only the upper halve of the TV-out to match the TV 16:9 leaving a black bar at the bottom.
Is there a way to slove this? Is it possible to adjust the screen position?

Also if i scale the screen my OSD is a bit to large and is obscured by the TV border. If it soul be possible to adjust this position that would be great!

Thanks,
Geert

The only settings that might help you are in config.xml:

<PVR350Width>640</PVR350Width>
<PVR350Height>520</PVR350Height>
<PVR350OffsetX>45</PVR350OffsetX>
<PVR350OffsetY>20</PVR350OffsetY>

You cannot control the OSD and video positions separately.

When editing these, make sure PVR350Width + PVR350OffsetX < 720 and PVR350Height + PVR350OffsetY < 480 (or 576 for PAL).

Hi,

I have a Technotrend S2300 (Nexus-S) card which has a TV out however it only works if the software has been written to set the TV out function to work.

Does anyone know if it is possible to force the card to use the TV out socket?

Sorry I know it is off the subject.

Thanks,

David

No, GB-PVR cannot use the TV out on the Nexus-S.

Dear Mr SUB,
It works (obviously), so many thanks.
Now if you could add some config to change the position of the OSD so if my TV scales the pic i could still see it...( My Sony TV has a function that scales the picture to 16:9 so the black bars are gone but at the same time my OSD is gone 2)
BTW is it possible to view a slide show of pictures like in MediaPortal? My wife wants to show holiday pics to the family :-)

I wont be doing this. I no longer do any development related to the TV out on the PVR350. Its not worth the hassle.

I dont know it its the same as MediaPortal, but you could try Reven's My Pictures plugin.

K, thanks Sub!
If you say it's not the worth the hassle, does that mean i'd better go thru another medium to get it on tv?
Is a MVP the way to go or the TV-out on the GFX card? (If i want a 'real' TIVO)

And yes Reven"s plug is what i was after! Still doent look enough at the old Wiki!

If the PVR350's TV out is working for you, then feel free to continue using it. I just cant be bothered developing features for it any more. Its drivers are buggy which cause lockups for quite a few people, and it just too different from other devices (meaning it consumes too much development time).

It depends on what you want to. Its a personal choice really. If you need to watch AVI files or DVDs then the MVP is not a good choice. If you need a nice cheap quite box for just watching MPG movies, then the MVP should be fine.

Well, i'd like to record, watch, skip, etc TV stuff.
If i would like to watch a DVD then i have a good DVD player and don't like a PC for this.
I think i want a multimedia center where i can watch pictures listen to music and record tv shows with timeshift at the highest possible quality.
I can understand that you don't want to go on with the tv-out of the PVR but i don't understand what other solution is serious for what i want. I guess it's kinda stupid to watch a movie on a PC, i like my couch...:-)

Thanks,
Geert
