Hi,

I just ran into a problem with the GBPVRRecordingService.exe where it throws an exception that cannot be handled. This seems to be occuring when it is trying to record something I setup to record right now. I'm recording a show from 9:30 pm to 10:00pm as a test and after the first minute of recording, I ran into this exception and have not been able to restart the service without this exception being thrown.

Is there a JIT Debugger I can install to look at this in more detail?

Thanks

I've just run into the exact same problem. Now gbpvr is unusable unless I re-install, which I don't want to do 'cause I don't want to have to set up my channels all over again.

I ran into this with my PVR150. An exception gets thrown, the recording continues in the background until you click ok or until the disk runs out. Clicking ok terminates it immediately.

In my case, and I know 2 or 3 others that had the same trouble, it turned out to be a problem with the standard drivers currently available on Hauppauge's website. Mine only occurred when I recorded from composite input - I don't know about the others. Upgrading to the beta 23209 drivers solved my problem. You can get them here. 23209 beta drivers

Hope this helps,
Tim

Thanks Tim,

That seems to work. I had to reproduce the problem first since I was just reintalling and reinitializing GB-PVR when the error occurred to get rid of it. After reproducing the error, installing the beta you linked to and rebooting, I haven't seen the exception come back. I tried only a couple recordings so far and I've been trying to play with the MPEG codecs and ffdshow to get playback smooth. Thanks for your help!

Thanks Tim, I used the newest beta from the Hauppage site and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for the update bytemybits... I didn't try the beta ones on Hauppauge's official site but skipped ahead to the ones on shspvr.com. I was curious if the Hauppauge beta drivers would solve the problem too, but not curious enough to downgrade once I got it working. Wink
