not releasing tuner after watching show

i am having an issue with nextpvr on windows 10 not terminating/releasing the connection to my hdhomerun dual after finishing to watch or recording a show. this is happening in web and desktop apps.

is occurring with the current and previous versions of nextpvr.
the only way I can fix this is to power off/on the hdhome device or stop/start the nextpvr service.

issue does not happen when using hdhome supplied app.
 
also on 2 other computers not having this issue.

You don't have the most important screen shot, the one on Settings->Devices where you have "Keep digital tuners primed" ticked. It definitely is a waste of bandwidth with HDHR devices.

Agreed, but most people with HDHomeRun devices likely use the HDHR device type these days, where that setting isn’t used.

Agreed but "most" is pretty strong. I see from the logs there are still lots of legacy HDHR users where http isn't an option

Either should be ok.

HDHR uses less network bandwidth.

DVB-T/C can record more than one channel per frequency with a single channel. (though this is usually only a concern if you're recording more channels simultaneously than the number of tuners in your HDHR)
