Have never actually tried this before, but I guess I can have NextPVR on the main PC and watch on a local (as in 10 foot away) laptop ?

I tried typing in hopefully the correct url on the laptop and it comes up with the same login screen as on the main PC, but typing the usual password it says Login Failed.
Also, under the Admin > Settings > Remote Access, it says 'If you're intending to use NextPVR over Internet, you need to tick the checkbox below. It'll only allow you to login remotely if you have changed the username/password and pin from the default values. This is required to help keep your machine secure.' So do I need to change the default username/password seeing as I'm using it locally, not via the Internet ?
(the box is ticked)

Are you using a standard local network address range? for example, 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x etc.

We've encounter a couple people over the years using non-standard addresses, making the application think the user is accessing over the internet.

If you want to try logging in from the other machine, then post your logs, I'll tell you what it's unhappy about.

Tried again on the other machine, now it just displays a completely white web page.

Hopefully this at least contains the right time period...

...and when I do control-f5 on the white screen page I get the normal NextPVR web interface all working. Typical me. Just a cache thing then (again) ?

I could see a couple of login attempts from 192.168.1.133, which were successful. Was this the machine you were trying unsuccessfully to login from? If not, you might need to post another set of logs, and let me know what time you attempted the login, so I know where to look.

I imagine those would be when I was logging in on the main PC where NextPVR is installed to check out the Settings page. On the laptop in Chrome I was typing in 192.168.1.133:8866 as I presume thats what I should type in to get to NextPVR on the main PC and that wasn't working (at least in the beginning, better after pressing f5).
Think I was trying on the laptop in the vicinity of 15:10 (or after 3pm anyway).

There is no sign of a session coming from another machine around that time. Maybe you're running some firewall software that is blocking network requests from other machines?

I have the fabled Norton installed, but I've never done anything to a firewall manually. I wouldn't have thought that would stop it working and then doing f5 in Chrome would make it work ?
