Hi! I am new to the forum and new to NextPVR, but I like it already as I almost got my project to function as planned.  Smile NextPVR is easy to configure and works well (as does the Kodi addon).

Here's my setup:

Terratec CI DVB-S2 receiver with native Fransat neotion CAM and smartcard (viaccess-orca) connected to a mini PC running Windows 8.1 and NextPVR.

Now what I want to do is stream Sat channels to a friend who is not allowed to install an antenna at home. So I've put it in my back yard and hooked it up to NextPVR, with port open to the internet. Works like a charm for the unencrypted channels, but:

I would like to get the encrypted channels to work as well, using the CI+ card. Now I have used the search function and I've read that there is no support for CI in the version of NextPVR.

Will it work if I install v4? Or do you know of any other way (or an alternative, sorry Blush ) to get it to work?

Thanks a lot for any help.

Unfortunately NextPVR isn't going to be able to help you with this. It only really does FTA channels.

There was some limited support for CI on NextPVR v4, but it wont work with a Terratec CI device. Unfortunately each and every manufacturer does CI different way, using their own proprietary methods. I never owned any Terratec devices, so never added support for these.

Thanks for your response. That's too bad, because I really like NextPVR. As a matter of fact, I didn't get any other PVR software to work so far, and I've tried quite a few.

How about this HDMI function? I also have a Fransat settop box. How should I get the HDMI-out back into my PC? And how does the IR remote control thing work? If I am asking obvious questions, please tell me where to read up (forum thread or FAQ). Thanks in advance.
