I have just started using a new IPTV provider and I am having trouble loading the m3u/EPG source as a device.

If I just add the m3u file without the (optional) EPG xml link then the channels import fine but obviously with no EPG data.

If I delete the device and add again but also include my EPG credentials then I see a LOT of internet activity start and download something for about 1 minute, then I get an error message displayed something like the following...

Unable to read http://**********/.../xmltv.php?.... [IZZ/rsr6Q3TlSx/8Xmk9NG0UDhUr+uK8Ayt+4D0zoanbnUZXoUXm541d0PNHnUXCXJo+C+QPA9N+fZxtmhFSfDS9yjB946A41NvfIlUHRdFXD2+C53PCZEXftSPPx0nxQhQx/jor87y/v8YYO81lLG8FKcw2kRaiagHRJGKPoAq4+1jDdeserF3WRsqq5fYRBMK/b4DVMlzFGwtoU0AoNBKg6S8T9qY+mAsecuyiv9vr79YfjBGy2EiAAFVwAdb6Vq9UmaIG6Jr6Nr2XLZOhGcySVi+jmk/vAHKkjUbXuQHxEavVk4Gw3X+PzkWEPCDcGkksZffM7LgF+7+/7vNuBpuHJwl1HTGyDDq4Tc9YZn2t3FkUEyg0LolJ0gAKoBpXhv2Z1LJUpoVpZ38Ve3MYwxKuyEqV87Znm6Cs87wJMZ0/gtATci2WbGTFVXBqOf1lTFb3ssJBeeqhxfKjjDJPEw==] (Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: desc, programme, tv. Line 5149, position 3909556.)

The exact nature of the error changes each time and the line number/position also changes.

The exact same m3u and EPG links work fine in Emby. (I can't check with Jellyfin since it seems to be completely broken at the moment and won't delete/remove old channels/EPG data!!!)

If I try to add the EPG provider after adding the device m3u then click update EPG nothing seems to happen and no EPG data gets loaded.

Is there a timeout getting triggered when trying to download the EPG data?

Thoughts?

Regards,
Steve

Yeah, it could be a time out if it's taking a long time. It's not currently configurable, but I could look to add that ability (and maybe bump up the default time out for this activity)

You could see if this updated NShared.dll helps.

With this DLL nothing at all happens when I try to import the m3u/epg Sad

I switched back to the original and the download behaved as previously (i.e. lots of data but fails after about 1 minute)

Then back to new dll and nothing again.

Back to original, original results.

Heading to bed now but will continue looking tomorrow.

I REALLY appreciate you looking at this so quickly Smile

Steve

Have you had chance to look at the DLL you posted? I still can't get anything to work with the new DLL.

Try the 5.1.0.201216 release, which has a newer dll than the version I posted.

Unfortunately the same result when adding a new tuner/EPG...

Unable to read http://??????.????/.../xmltv.php?.... [HiOTMkXF//hRwkqYUTCZ3DCpYDrbY7w8s/naYu5RuLxttPZcleDY9uI3tCZNsbXSfKYg/sPTiJ/JUrGBMOpQM+EtOlvoYcqUGXEFJA62gXoFSq5pkz6odzx46iJpB4aqgJIOJ1l1QAgP2iBwo9OP6F7XggbSjIQL2weH+vyBDi7wRLgKP+Py6PMVvn8zA0PYFKCo6GpOKAPQhs/+0Ksa9fDgkuo/fPB3cnc8bAhUm2lKMH4b1AtZefu2JdzJ76pKx6E1MU+4JUx71Dd81Psa47w6KfqQH0s/JKgPWh7rbYQlmhelnM+KDsa+mI5/PqLGe1cpE2FlpY1SRumb2QgJCM8v8NlBRbxc2kcOJd1YNKOnRN9XH0znrAEe46BNNqoC1JQj2imdbE0d7XeIaGtUqp9j57/Jp3smWbJEf8mnfTA5lJkRSC0/18vs4xt4KgPzPElTLkekQ5s4jCG7L+ltSw==] (Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: desc, programme, tv. Line 5027, position 2189843.)

If I add the channels first with no EPG then auto map on the settings-channels-advanced tools the mapping seems to work fine but clicking on "update EPG" seems to down load some data but again never fully re-populate the guide Sad SOME channels get data but no where near the number of channels that Emby fills out.

Playback also seems broken for many/most channels. If I select a channel from "Channels" (since I can't start a stream from the guide for channels with no EPG data) then I see the "Receiving data" start, and I can monitor network traffic, but get just a gray screen with no video and the time indicator does not advance.

I am also getting MANY transcoder failed errors on channels that are fine with Emby. I have tried both CPU and NVIDIA hardware assisted with the same result.

Things seem to have taken a huge step backwards for me Sad

I'm not seeing other reports of IPTV problems, so it is probably something quirky about your IPTV provider that NextPVR doesn't like.

Ultimately, your best bet is focusing on one thing at a time, so I can try to work out the cause, rather than just a brain dump of everything you're unhappy with.

If you can PM me your m3u and xmltv url, I'll briefly check it, to see what NextPVR doesn't like about importing these channels.

You could see if these three updated files help. (only one of them has a change relevant to you, but you need a set because of other changes I've been making)
