As I suspected it isn't scheduled as a recurring recording because you manually deleted it.

OK.  That was a mistake.  How do I fix it?  Do I have to wait until the next episode and try "record series" again?  Again, sorry to be thick.

Thanks.

You can clear all your recorded history or manually select those episodes from the search.

A thousand pardons, please.   Shy

I just clicked on search and entered "clear recorded history" and got no results.  Where do I go to figure out how to do this?  I'm assuming that, once I do this, I'll be able to use the "record series" functionality for this program again.

Failing the above, are you saying I need to find all future episodes and record them individually?

Thank you.

You will have the search the forum more carefull, I don't recall the command it is something like removehistory

It will only skip recordings shows that you specifically deleted previously, either via a recording or deleting a scheduled recording.

I tried nextpvr.exe -removehistory once already.  I mentioned this in my first post on this topic.  Windows complained that it couldn't find a file or something.  I was probably in the wrong directory or my Windows syntax was wrong.  Regardless, I decided to come here and ask for help before I hosed something up by running a .exe file in the NextPVR executable directory.

I just now opened up the web interface, navigated to "Scheduler" and chose "Recurring" from the drop down.  I found two instances of this program listed.  I looked at the details in each record and they looked correct.  So, maybe it was going to record the series?  Maybe the puck didn't turn red because there was no other instance of that program in the guide?  I have no idea.

Anyway, I used the web interface to delete them both, then tried to "record series" using the web interface again.  It worked.  The puck turned red when I selected "record series".

I have no idea how two recurring records ended up in the scheduler, and why, if it already had two, it wouldn't just add another, or perhaps why NextPVR didn't warn me that I was about to add a "duplicate" recurring record before I did so.  Maybe that happened as a part of the migration process from V4?  But I digress.  These are strictly rhetorical questions anyway.

I have no idea what I did to render "record series" so problematic and no idea what that has to do with recording history, but I guess it doesn't matter anymore.  Ideally I'd understand this so I'd not do it again, but never mind.  Treat is as yet another rhetorical question.

Good day.

You clearly didn't search removehistory since there are several hits and the second one even linked to the wiki https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/nscripthelper It is not nextpvr.exe anymore.

You likely deleted scheduled recordings or timers in Kodi rather then the recurring recording or timer rule. It is a common mistake. They need to go into history or they would just reappear as recordings for 14 days.

For what it's worth to anyone else out there having this problem, here is how I resolved this issue in my mind:

Per Martin, there is a bug in Kodi that causes Kodi to throw an error and fail to schedule this series.  Evidently that error is resolved in Kodi 19.  I'm not ready to upgrade to 19 yet, so I'll have to contend with it.  The good news for me is that I've scheduled about 10 series for recording, and this is the only one that failed like this in Kodi.

When I tried to work around Kodi and schedule recording of this series directly in NextPVR, the "puck" I had clicked on did not turn red (it does turn red if I choose to record that single instance).  That caused me to conclude that NextPVR wasn't scheduling the series either.  I think that conclusion was wrong.  NextPVR did schedule the series, it just refused to schedule a recording for the instance of the program that I clicked on because it thought I had manually deleted that timer.  I don't recall doing that, but I'll just assume I did.  The interesting thing about this episode is that it has never been broadcast, hence it could not have been recorded, I could not have watched it, and I had no reason to delete it.  But, per Martin, I must have done so.

I found two instances of this recurring recording rule in NextPVR.  I deleted both of them, and then attempted to schedule the series again.  This time, the puck turned red, so I conclude that the series has been scheduled for recording, together with the specific episode that I clicked on.  I have no idea why this happened, but the result is far less destructive than running "removehistory", which has the potential for messing up all scheduled recordings.

I didn't quite say that. If I recall there was a bug in the Leia pvr addon trying to modify an existing all channels recording which is what I saw in your logs. I don't recall a specific scheduling bug but I would be happy to look at it it you can duplicate it.

No thank you, Martin.  I'll stand aside and let someone else pick this up if it ever comes up again.  I've had enough fun here on this topic to last me a good long time!   Smile

Cheers!
