NPVR.zip wont download from NPVRSetup.exe

In Firefox, I receive an" Error downloading " msg when connecting to https://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip.
The msg says "Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.  Clicking the OK button terminates everything.

In Chrome, the link to NPVRSetup.exe opens for a fraction of a second, then closes.

When I go to the download address in Firefox, I have the choice of opening the file with winzip, or saving the file. 
I have saved it.

Is there a way to install it from my download directory?

Maybe your've got firewall/antivirus software stopping NPVRSetup.exe from downloading? If so, maybe temporarily disable it.

I have turned off my vpn, and I have turned off BitDefender. I have successfully downloaded stuff from Microsoft, BitDefender, ATI, Firefox and a host of other servers, but I can't connect to that one file on Nextpvr. Can I install it from the zip I downloaded? Is the installer in the zip?

I upgraded to Windows 10, and the download problem went away... Now, to get my vintage HVR-1800 to run. Is it supported in version 5?

Depends. For digital yes for analog including FM it's possible but not simple.

As long as you've got drivers for it, it should run fine.

EDIT: I'm referring to the digital side, for ATSC/QAM. The analog side wont function under v5.

Good enough. I'm only concerned about digital TV.... I found a bunch of drivers, and Device Manager shows drivers installed for the "multimedia card" - hopefully that will do the trick.

No.
