Martin - I'm sorry for being thick. Are you saying to play one of those channels in NextPVR.exe as opposed to in the web client (where I get the error messages)? And if so, where do I look to find the .ts files? I've only ever seen those before when I've made recordings. But you're saying just to play a stream, not record it, right?

The NextPVR service delivers Live TV by "recording" the stream into a temporary file and simulataneously providing a "Live TV" stream from the temporary file.  It is this process that allows you to pause and rewind Live TV.

The NextPVR service cretaes these temporary Live TV buffer files when any client requests Live TV.  The location of the the Live TV buffer files is set in the web app at Settings -> General

It should be that you can watch one minute of Live TV using NextPVR.exe and this will create a buffer file as a .ts file in the Live TV buffer folder.  You can then upload this buffer file to Dropbox or somewhere and post a link.

For completeness, the Live TV buffer files are created when you watch Live TV in the web app and in NextPVR.exe.  It is the same files in both cases.  The NextPVR service transcodes the content of the buffer before sending to the web app and does not transcode before sending to nextpvr.exe.

Ah, got it!  Thanks, Graham.  Attached is a short clip from UK ITV1 as played live in NextPVR.exe.  This channel will not play live in the web app.

Hmm. The attachment didn't seem to work, even though it was only 15 MB. Let's try this: https://we.tl/t-HCZcy2XY03

That's 13 MB more than allowed. Videos need to be offsite

Any yes it it AC3 and overall just a poor quality file.

Playing the stream in NextPVR.exe, it always stutters a little at the beginning, but after the first few seconds, it settles down and is quite stable. So, what's wrong with AC3? It plays fine in Tivimate (on Android) and other players.

And, how come recordings of these channels also fail?

It probably will play OK in NextPVR.exe and Kodi too.  You expect to play it in a web browsers.

Its fails as a recording because of ffmpeg issues it is not a standard h264/aac stream so it needs forced transcoding.

So, what are you telling me here? Should I just give up any expectation of being able to record these streams with NextPVR? I can record single shows with Tivimate, and that works fine, but Tivimate has no support for recurring recordings. NextPVR has always been a great tool in the past.
