Which is odd in that Silicon Dust's native Windows/iOS/Android/etc. apps will play ALL channels, then why would their Kodi addon NOT also play the DRM protected channels?
When a client connects to the HDHomeRun Prime device, it has to let the device know what content protections it can provide (and it does this by exchanging special keys etc). Their kodi addon, which is open source, obviously cannot contain those special keys etc, since they can't guarantee they can protect the content there.

While npvr does not support drm directly, there are ways around this. for example, I hear if you switch to tivo and set up a mini > hdmi splitter > colossus 2 card or old mini > component > colossus 2 card. Then use an usbuirt to change channels, it should allow for drm channels to work in nextpvr. I hear it also should work for cable co boxes instead of a tivo mini.
