New Skin: BlueMCE2

I like it too, but I find it hard on the eyes... white letters on a light blue background don't render too well on my TV.
Also, when in plugins like Video Archive, a lot of times, the lettering is in orange. It is totally unreadable on the TV. Aside from that, ya, it's a nice skin.

Yes I find that as well, it is particularily noticeable on the weather plug-in which uses the colour "tomato" for the hi-temp this is completly unreadable on my tv using an mvp

I changed it to cyan which is used for the lo temp value

i don't use video archiver, so i don't know, where there might be orange letters.

When you enter the video archiver, you have a collumn on the left with the shows, and a row at the bottom with the episodes for the show selected on the left

Your cursor (green box, white lettering) can only be in one zone at a time, so it's either in the left collumn, or the bottom row. When you swicth from one zone to the other, the cursor moves, and the item in the other zone that is still selected, is displayed as orange, on a slightly different light blue box.

But anyway, dottore, globally, I just feel that white letters on a light blue background don't produce enough contrast. They just hurt my eyes after a while when you view GBPVR on the MVP, and it all tends to be one big blur. I really like the look and feel of the skin, just not the colors picked... Maybe I'll edit some files to make a DarkBlueMCE2 skin

the mvp is not capable of showing high-res pictures.....mvp-users should use other skins. i'll take a look at the orange part, but i don't think we will change the button-colours. anyway if you want to alter the images, do it! i will post your version to the wiki. remember: use a plain background.

I just tried the My Programs (v 2.0.0.4) with BlueMCE2 (v1.4.5)....

After I select the plugin, the moment gbpvr.exe starts up, the whole skin is flickering?.. disappearing menu items...

Is this known?.. maybe I have to move to the latest skin version?

try to update the skin. what do you mean by flickering? is that skin-related or does it happen with the standard-blue skin too? try disabling my programs and restart gbpvr. same effect?

Just curious, can you enable the recording ticker that was on the main screen? Seems to have but removed when I updated this skin.

it's still there, it's just deactivated because of the va-panel. open skin -> bluemce2 -> main menu -> skin.xml file and look at the following lines:

you see, the <!-- and --> tags are comment-tags.

for all the others: there is a new version of the skin available at the wiki. i changed the orange to cyan in video-archiver (i hope, i found every appearance....) and there are updates for weather and news-feed-plugins by danka.

also i added support for xdvd. it doesn't look tooooooooo good, but it works ;-)

Seriously, I just recolored the background file, changed the font for the VAPanel, and it makes a huge difference. It's a LOT more readable on the MVP as well.

And you did get rid of the orange in VideoArchive, so that's even better. I like how the cyan windows pop against the dark background.

BTW: why did you suggest a plain background file?

I have been using the "background dark blue.png" and I think it looks very nice. You need to convert the file format to jpg and save it as background.jpg.
