UK Freesat and bouquets?

Hi,

In order to get my new Android TV TV and various chromecasts with google tv working with my TV server without the need for Kodi. I thought I'd give NextPVR a go. I'm installing the server on windows - install and setup couldn't have been easier but the problem is tuning the sat receiver - I read through the forum and saw that you can get an updated ini from kingofsat - so I did that for 28.2e and it finds 100's of channels - but most are duplicates for the various regional versions of say BBC, ITV etc. Has anyone got an up-to-date freesat .ini file that I could use to save spending hours 'fixing' what I have?

Also Channel 4 is missing (both sd and HD)

I also read in one of the threads here that you were looking to use bouquets (is that right?) in a future release - did that ever happen? it would really take the pain out of getting Freesat working in a friendly way. I read in these forums that TVHeadend works that way?

Lastly - the NextPVR android app doesnt show up in the list of apps on the chromecast with googleTV - am I missing something? I downloaded (and paid) on my phone and it works brilliantly.

P.S. I dont have anything against Kodi, far from it - its just seems overkill if all you want is to quickly watch TV from a googleTV setup. I have run Kodi on odroid boxes for years with mediaportal back end and its worked very well - but I thought it time to embrace the stuff that now shipped in the new TVs :-)

No it didn't. I did get most of the way through the changes, but it's not fully plumbed in. I got distracted with something else at the time and didn't come back to it.

They don't really use bouquets here, so it's not something I usually think about.

I'm not sure. I've never run it.

Unfortunately I don't have a chromecast here, don't really know much about it. Are you wanting to play stuff to your chromecast from the phone app? It doesn't currently do that.

Thanks for the reply - I got the app on the chromecast, a few hours after installing it on my phone it appeared in the 'apps from other devices' list so all good there and it works fine playing video from the server.

shame about the bouquets - it would really help sort out the freesat mess here in the UK

I'll go back to the ini file and keep searching. In the meantime if anyone is reading this and has freesat up and running maybe you'd be so kind as to   post your ini file?!

Thanks - I went and had dinner and when I came back NextPVR was in the 'Apps from other devices' list so all installed ok now.

Honestly, I know it'd be a major help for some places like the UK. I just got busy, and no one was bugging me for it, so I didnt' come back to it. So...best thing UK users can do is remind me about it every so often.

As I said on another thread this week I have created my own 28.2.ini with only about 24 transponders instead of about 110. However it is only of use if you happen to live in the West region as its 28.2West.ini. ITV dont make things easy as unlike the BBC they dont include the region in the channel name so you have to select the correct one by its SID!

Previous users of the DVBLink TVSource software may have used my (free) LineUp utility.  I am working on a new version for NextPvr which will handle tuning/bouquets etc for DVB-S, DVB-T and HdPvr.  Hope to have an early version available in the June/July timeframe (I am in the UK!)
