Changing providers. Reoccurring recordings question

I've had to switch cable TV providers after many years.  I've got everything working great with the new providers and channels but I have a question.  

With my existing reoccurring recordings in the database does NextPVR search on the show title or does it use something else on the backend like channel number or ID or something?  The reason I ask is it seems like some of my reoccurring recordings are popping up like they should but other seem to not but I can't nail down a pattern.

It depends on how the recurring recording was created, and how the new provider was setup. Some recurrings, that are channel specific, definitely reference a specific channel id. An 'all channels' recording obviously isn't tried to specific channel id.

If the names are the same on the new provider and you've got multiple tuners, you can delete all the channels of one of your tuners, scan in the new channels, then merge the channels with the existing channels. Then go into each of the other tuners, delete the channels, then go back into each tuner and accept the offer to copy the channels from the already setup tuner. (ie, ending up with the same channel ids)
