I must be used to it because I really like the colors the way they have been. I have never had a problem of readability. I am also not using an MVP.
AMD Athlon XP 2500+, Asus A7V8X-X, 1 gb Ram, 7600 GT, Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250 & Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150, 1.5 Terabyte Seagate HD, XP Pro

I have been using the "background dark blue.png" and I think it looks very nice. You need to convert the file format to jpg and save it as background.jpg.
Wow, seconded! I ditched my background to get the one you mentionned
However, I also had to copy it as bacjground.png, and ressources\background.png (like I had to do with my modified background file)

hello,

this is an attempt at creating a dark blue look, for BlueMCE2. Here are two zip files, they include images redone from the originals. Just overwrite the files in your BlueMCE2 skin resources folder with them. If you want to restore them back to original state, just use the other zip file, to restore them back to normal, in case you don't like Smile

This is not a entire skin, just a test replacement of a few key images for those wanting to play with a DarkBlueMCE2 possibility. I'll attach a screenshot after this post.

cheers Smile

edit: I may have to spend some more time on the background images, they look good on my pc, but not as nice on TV.

Did you know there is a problem with the xrecord skin.xml file

the number of columns in the bluemce2 skin has been set to 3 but this stops some recordings from showing up, the fix seems to be to change it back to the original 4 columns

see this thread for more details http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=8940

there are few other oddities in this skin where boxes dont quite fit text etc, but are no real problem to using the plugin they just dont look as good as they might

thanks for devleoping the skin

hey dottore,

I wasn't totally pleased with the image resolutions of the backgrounds that i have, I've redone some of them... I had full intentions to send them to you for the wiki. Maybe start a possible DarkBlueMCE2 skin to accompany the original.

good idea.

@tkgafs: i have planned to make some smaller buttons for xrecord, so they don't overlay any text anymore.
do you have problems with xrecord with the current bluemce2-release concerning the recordings? if there is a fix for the problem, i would like to implement it in the official wiki-release. i haven't read over the whole thread, since i have few time, so i don't know, if there is a fix somewhere...

dottore

the quick fix for the miising recordings in xrecord is to change the line

<Advanced active="true" rows="2" columns="3" box="true" startGap="100" rowGap="90"/>

to

<Advanced active="true" rows="2" columns="4" box="true" startGap="100" rowGap="90"/>

[QUOTE=LilY0da]Behold ....... DarkBlueMCE2 Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Seriously, I just recolored the background file, changed the font for the VAPanel, and it makes a huge difference. It's a LOT more readable on the MVP as well.QUOTE]

Out of curiousity, if the work that you have been doing on this (which looks great) for your MVP viewing is good. Can you post it?

I really like the BlueMCE2 skin but I find it difficult on the eyes on my 26" CRT TV, the 44"LCD has no troubles. Props to dotter and the original creator as well.

Anything that will make the fonts a little bigger or bolder (just plain easier to read on the TV through the MVP) would be amazing!

Thx
