Recording to remote samba share

I didn't think so, so really it is apples and oranges, you could easily create an open cifs share for NextPVR to use.

Security is the hard part which is why I don't in general recommend or try and support it.

I wasn't worried about the security either. I'm the only one that sees that pc.
I tried making an open samba share but for some reason it always wanted a password to connect.

Start simple then with no security then and then go from this then read up on adding security. I always use nobody so I can delete an manage everywhere.

I just found out about forcing a user on the share but haven't had time to try it yet.

Lately trying to get hw acceleration working and didn't want to bother you with it.
