Can some1 tell me if my signal strength is what is causing me to not be able to recieve any channels? freeview.co.uk say they dont have my postcode and the nearest one to me are listed as out of area, even though I live only 5 miles line of sight from the transmitter.

Maybe.

Some UK Nova-T users have had to edit the config.xml file and set <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType> in order to get the scan working for them, so its worth trying.

What does the signal strength and quality both being 0 all the time mean? That the card isnt working?

Just to point out the obvious; it *could* mean that you don't get a signal... especially if the broadcaster is listing you and your nearest area codes as out of area?
I'm not always right

I am officially out of area for Hannington (Im guessing coz we dont get ch5 on analogue which is a trait of Hannington) for digital but I am aware that a few people in Basingstoke can still recieve freeview on this forum. If I were out-of-bounds for the signal, I should see something on the strength surely? if if it were 1 rather that 0 in any scale. I havent seen anything to tell me my card actually is receiving at the bare minimum... noise.

I wouldnt rely on the signal strength and quality information GB-PVR reports in its log files. I've found that support for getting this information is inconsistant among device manufactures. Some drivers provide it, some dont, some provide stupid numbers. I dont think its defined by the BDA standard.

The software that came with the card is the most likely software to work, and to report accurate signal values, since they tend to interpret their own numbers correctly.
