Turned on the TV today to see "no scheduled recordings" ... HUH??

Found out my TV guide wasn't being updated somehow (my zap2it account is still good for at least another month) so I did a manual epg update. Now when I go into GB-PVR there's nothing in the what's new list, and everything that WAS in the what's new list is now flagged as failed, even though it did indeed record! Any ideas??

ver 94.12, here's all the logs.

I guess I'll try 94.13 and see if it helps, and also switched my zap2it update time to 4AM instead of 3AM, but I can't imagine it was failing to update for an entire week. Also I told it to update for 10 days of data but it keeps going to 7.

You stopped and started GB-PVR several times with a period of a few minutes, so the logs and all the backups have been over written, so there isnt really anything left to go on.

Damn, figures. Is there a way to directly edit the gbpvr.mdb file to change all the "failed" recordings to "ready" recordings, and if so, how (in access, for example) thanks.

In gbpvr.mdb the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table holds the status of the recording. A 'status' of '2' indicates a successful recording.

Ok so I changed a bunch of things with status '3' (which I assume means failed) to status '2' and now they just don't show up on the list at all. How do I fix this? Thanks.

The easiest way to fix it is to uninstall, delete your gbpvr directory, then reinstall - effectively starting again from a known clean install.

The only reason I can think of that would stop them showing up is the files are not in the locations listed in the database. Does the RECORDING_SCHEDULE contain the *full* path to the recordings?

sub i am having the same problem with a whole lot of listed "failed" recordings that were successful. i deleted them, upgraded and in the new install (im pretty sure its the new install, it happened to me quite frequently when beta testing, but didnt think much of it) showed them as failed. this only happens on recordings that ihave deleted thou, ones that are still there still show up as "ready" (or available, or whatever it says).

WTF?! These things are gone from the gbpvr.mdb now too!! They were JUST THERE! Everything from about 9/18 to 9/26 is now gone, I cannot believe this...I absolutely cannot believe this. GB-PVR has been on a BAD downward spiral these past few releases, I guess I just need to pull all my MPEG files off the thing and wipe it, I reaaaaaaaaally don't have time for this BS...

I suspect something is triggering a restore of the database as at the time of the last upgrade. This was only a few days back so you probably had some recordings already sitting in the pending queue. When the recording service starts and sees 'pending' recordings with an 'end date' in the past, it instantly sets them to failed. You'll be able to tell this is the case by looking in the database. The recordings will only have a title-like filename field, rather than a full path to a recording file on disk.

You may also find an MSI installer entry in the windows eventlog at the time this problem occurred.
