Aspect ratio issue with UK HD recordings

I have an issue with the aspect ratio defaulting to Fill mode when starting playback of any UK HD recording. Monitor aspect ratio is 16:10 and ideally I would like playback to start in Auto mode so it displays with small black bars, which is what happens with SD recordings.

I have tried setting mode to Auto manually but this setting is not being saved and it defaults to Fill each time. I've also noticed if I switch between windowed mode and full screen the mode switches to Auto automatically.

I'm using NPVR 5.2.3.211114 and latest versions of LAV audio and video decoders with default settings.

Is this a known issue or does anyone know of a workaround? It's slightly frustrating having to manually set the correct aspect ratio each time.

Are you using F7 to change aspect ratio modes? It should remember the mode you were on.

I've tried pressing F7 to set it to auto, but it always reverts to fill mode. This only happens with HD recordings. HD live TV channels display correctly in 16:9 letterbox mode, and SD recordings and live TV also display correctly.

Find the <DefaultBehaviour> setting in config.xml and set it to:

<DefaultBehaviour>remember</DefaultBehaviour>

That has worked. It was set to auto, but I've changed it to remember and now all recordings play in 16:9 letterbox mode.
