Hi-

New user trying to set NextPVR on my Windows 10 laptop and getting stuck. I'm trying to set it up with my IPTV service. I do have an HDHR tuner, and I can set it up with that and it works, but I can't get it to work with my IPTV service, even though I understand others have.

My IPTV service changes stream addresses frequently so I run a proxy server on my network that keeps them updated to a standard playlist. This works perfectly with all my other services, like channel apps on Apple TV and Android.  I just point it to the playlist address and the EPG address, and it works.

When I load it in the IPTV device on NextPVR, it loads the channels perfectly, and populates the EPG perfectly. But when I play something (or record something) I get the error.

I've tried it with windows defender active and disabled.  I've tried it with v4 and v5, with full uninstalls between trials.  I've tried it on the web interface and the client.  I've tried all the different options as to transcode or not.  And I've tried both LAV and the Microsoft DVD-DTV decoders.

My IPTV proxy allows me to choose various stream types.  I normally leave it as hls, but I've tried each option.  The only format that will play is mpegts, but that pauses every few seconds, which is a behavior I don't see any of the other ways I watch streams. That tells me that it is possible to make a connection, but it's not watchable. Every other option fails.

I see other people have had this issue, but I can't find any answers that put me on the correct path.  I've attached the log file, do you have any pointers in the right direction to get this going?

Thanks!

In the logs, it looks like it's getting a 404 not found back from your proxy.

If you're able to temporarily open an external port, pointed at your IPTV proxy, and PM me the address/port, I'll try running it up against nextpvr in the debugger to see what it's unhappy with.

Thanks for the quick response. I actually am not sure how to do that. I will look into it and see if I can figure out how to do so.

In your router ... There might be a setting for Port Forwarding that allows incoming traffic to your Internet IP address to be forwarded to a device on your internal network (such as your proxy) if the incoming traffic is directed to a specific port number.

How was this resolved?

I'm getting exactly the same error of "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)".

I'm in the same situation, a new user trying to set up NextPVR on my pi 4 but can't get it to work with my IPTV service. The IPTV service changes stream addresses frequently so I run a proxy server on my network that keeps them updated to a standard playlist. The standard playlist works perfectly in VLC when retrieved from the proxy server.

NextPVR loads the channels perfectly, and populates the EPG perfectly. But when I play something (or record something) I get the error.

Looking at the logs it's getting a 404 not found error from the proxy.

I've also tried a clean install of NextPVR server on a clean Windows 10 VM and have the same 404 error occuring.

(Added to this thread because it seems to be the same issue but happy to create a new thread if required)

Post the logs and we'll take a look.

FYI, the RPi 4 will be fine as a server for clients that can directplay the stream, like Kodi etc, but it's a little weak to be able to watch transcoded video in the web browser. That said, usually it can handle IPTV source content to the browser with out transcoding. Post the logs and we'll see what's happening.

Thanks, logs attached. You can see the error at 18:10 when I try to stream channel 1 and 18:15 when I try to stream channel 2.

Not sure if these are truncated enough for public posting so I'll DM the password.

I don't need any transcoding, the stream passing-through will be enough.
