I've just switched to Freesat, but th eEPG is a bit hit and miss.

I have tried both the DVB/STSC EPG source and the FREESAT source. It either cannot find any guide or has big gaps. This is even on Channel 4 and channel 5 . See attached image

Anyone having this issue

What are you using as your EPG source? You only seem to be getting Now & Next which is the standard for DVB-S signal. If you want the full Freesat EPG data you need to select Freesat or XMLTV if you are using an external source for your EPG!
NextPVR Server - HP N54L Microserver, Windows 10 - Storage 2 X 3TB - Tuners DVBSky S952 Twin DVB-S/S2 PCIe, Hauppauge Twin DVB-T2 USB, Telestar Digibit R1 Sat>IP Server.
Clients:- 2 X RPi3, 1 X RPi4 and Acer RL80 Celeron Nettop all running NextPVR New Client on LibreElec.

i have not looked at xmltv before, what does one need to make this work for the UK?

Nothing is easier than using Schedules Direct, and least get the free trial and see what I mean.

The are certainly recommended most for North Americans because of our poor OTA but they are in many countries https://www.schedulesdirect.org/regions

I am in the UK (BBC South / ITV Meridian - Surrey/Hampshire) and use Schedules Direct with my HDHomeRun Quatro via antenna and it works fine, no issues for me at all.
