Hi,

I am having some logistical issues association with GB-PVR being displayed on a remote TV via the TV out of the PC graphics card (i.e. shared use of computer for PC & TV). For example:

- the only way to get GB-PVR in full screen (no windows) mode onto the TV seems to be to drag the XP START bar across to the TV then launch it, then drag the START bar back to the PC monitor. OK when the TV is local, but difficult (or impossible) when it is in another room and you can't see the screen when you are moving the mouse, also

- when using the PC normally the cursor can drag across onto the TV, which would impact someone watching GB-PVR in the other room

Question - Is there a way to force ONLY GB-PVR to display on the TV output (i.e. secondary monitor) such that (a) it displays here by default and (b) no other applications, or the cursor etc can move across onto the secondary screen?

Thanks

can you can force gb-pvr to start in a specific location using the following command.

gbpvr -pos:x,y,w,h

You could easily create you own short cut that uses this approach and has the settings appropriate for your second monitor/tv.

I move GB-PVR onto the TV (dragging the windowed GB-PVR to the extended desktop) and then just press the "full" button on the Hauppauge remote.

I also use the "direct mode" whithout Ir.exe so I can use GB-PVR at the same time as someone else is working on the PC.

excellent - thanks for the pointers (I'll read up on direct mode too)

How about my 2nd point? Don't suppose you have any ideas here? That is stopping the cursor being able to scroll across onto the TV (secondary screen)?

I know that it works on the pvr-350, but I also know that it does not work on all hauppauge cards (for example the 150, I think). My point is that it might not work, depending on what kind of card you have.
I'm not always right

Yes, probably.

Not that I know of, but this isnt something GB-PVR should care about. This is really a feature/issue of your multi monitor software, not GB-PVR.

I've been meaning to try this but never got around to, yealling usally gets any incomming windows back again Wink. When in full screen mode, if you right-click on gb-pvr in the task-bar (on the PC) wasn't there an option there to toggle "force-foreground"?

Just moving (hiding) the cursor could perhaps be done with CustomTask/HideMouse

What video card do you have?
If it's a GeForce/nforce, the latest catalyst drivers have all the options inside.
Set the second device as TV, fullscreen, using "dualmode" and start gbpvr.
Even if gbpvr is a small (or even minimized) window, it's output is fullscreen on the TV, yet you can still use the computer for everything else.
You can never have enough tuners!

@reboot

The GeForce/nForce has NOTHING to do with the catalyst drivers; they're only vor ATI Cards. GeForce Graphiccards are using the ForceWare.

Yeah, my mistake. I gave up trying to keep all the names straight.
Anyhow, my point stands. The latest drivers for Geforce cards (whatever they're called) have all the options you need in the display control panel (or whatever it's called).
