Hi,

I've installed all the programs and plugins as suggested for dvd2mpeg to work but I can't get past dvd decryptor. I've solved the issue of asking for region codes. But after DVD decryptor, nothing happens.

What logs do I look at to fix this?

That is supposed to happen?

I found that the problem was with mplex.exe

I tried running it myself and it gives me the following error

INFO: [???] mplex version 2.2.2 ($Date: 2003/05/13 20:27:15 $)
INFo: [???] File video.m2v looks like an MPEG Video stream.
***ERROR: [???] File audio.mp2 unrecognisable!
***ERROR: [???] unrecognisable file(s)...exiting

I'm trying it with the audio.ac3 track now...it seems to be work. But the sound is really low.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try using the video archive plug-in instead. It has a much newer version of the dvd2mpeg plug-in built into it. You wil also lneed to delete the dvd2mpeg.dll file from your plug-ins directory to avoid conflicts with the new version.

I haven't tried the built in plugin...but I've been successful with the dvd2mpeg external plugin. Although I didn't install the stand alone one - it was done automatically.

I found that the syntax for besweet was wrong...the part that was -toolame should hav been -lame

After this it worked although the sound was still very low.

I'll try the build in one now.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Other steps for what?

Hi Jeff,

When I convert, it says that it's doing 1 step out of 4...from this would assume that I would see steps 2 to 4.

Anyway...I'm still having problems. I don't think mplex is working properly. If it is there is little to no volume in the resulting mpeg file. When I play the audio.mp2 file it works fine - after I changed the besweet.exe command line from toolame to just lame.

You comments please.

EDIT: note I am still having problems with MPLEX not understanding the format of my mp2 file from besweet. See above for the errors. Anyonelse having problems?

In the new version there are only 3 steps. I suggest you delete the old dvd2mpeg.dll and install the video archive plug-in. It has new command lines in it for the various tools. Also, you might check to make sure you have the corrcet (beta) version of besweet. The video archive plug-in documentation at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/VideoArchive includes a pointer to the web site where you can find it.

Hi Jeff,

Sorry, I got confused...here's the summary:

I only downloaded the latest version of video archiver and indeed it says that there are only three steps (from what I can gather I think the newest versions don't have the ac3delay option or something like that). This came with videos a/v video archive and DVD to MPEG. I've installed the a stable version of Besweet and mplex. I've never installed the standalone dvd2mpeg.

I am successful in the DVD decrypter part, and probably even the besweet part. Winamp can play the resulting mp2 file fine.

The real problem is with the included command line options mplex does not understand the audio.mp2 file that results (see error messages stated above). I think this is because in the command line options for besweet it says -toolame instead of lame for ac3 sound command line (I'm not sure what pcm command line is for right now).

I've just installed the newest beta besweetv1p5b31 so let's see how it goes.

Hi Jeff,

I've got DVD2MPEG working 90%. Updating to the latest version of besweet did the job. I was able to finish converting two DVDs successfully.

The only problem I have now is that the audio is slightly out of sync. What parameter do I tweak so that things get back into sync. I hope that it isn't dependent on the source.

Thanks.
