Comming back to GBPVR after a year plus,
having a few fun times,

but what happened to the dvd2mpeg plugin ?

I have MVP's , and want to simply rip the dvd to mpeg II format.

I have seen looking through the threads that there is now a video archive plug in, but can I just have the simple dvd2mpep plug in on it's own.

My MVP server is a Mini ITX 1.3 GHz beast, and it serves four MVP's very nicely, but it does not have a lot of free MIPS, so try to keep the number of process running on it to a minimum.

I am pretty sure that xdvd on the wiki does what you are looking for.

The dvd2mpeg plug-in is now built into the video archive plug-in dll. It can still be enabled separately if you only want to use it and not the video archive plug-in, but they are built into the same library because they share code and that makes my maintenance task easier.

thanks guys,

I'll just keep the arvhive option , and only tick the dvd 2 mpeg option in the plug in's.

Jeff,

I'm having problems with DVD2MPEG. It seems to work well, but when I try and play the file I get very jerky playback and sometimes it simply locks up. I tried all of the MPEG fixes listed on the forum including the quartz.dll, setting GBPVR priority to high, removing ffdshow, and changing decoders. Any ideas? I have a new 200GB hard drive, 512MB of RAM, and 1.8GHZ P4. Not the fastest computer ever, but I thought it would be enough to do the job.

I assume you are talking about the mpeg files produced by the conversion? Have you tried running them outside of GBPVR? Once they have been converted I don't know why they would act differently than any other mpeg file.

After I wrote the msg last night I opened the file up in WMP and I'm getting the same problems. The ripped file skips around and stutters. Are there any settings in DVD Decrypter that I need to check?

No, and I am not sure what to do about it.
