I've just bought a Hauppauge WIN TV Nova-S2 TV USB receiver, and I've been able to find channels via Astra 2E (0282). I also downloaded the ini file from https://en.kingofsat.net/sat-astra2e.php. However, I'm not getting EPG data for all of the channels.

I've tried Auto Mapping using the 'DVB/ATSC' and 'Freesat (UK)' options. I don't know which option is best to use.

Can anyone give any advice on which settings are best?

Thanks.

You should be able to set the channels all to 'Freesat (UK)', then do an 'Update EPG'. When you try this, maybe with an 'Empty EPG' first, what are you getting or not getting in the guide?

Thanks, that seems to get more results than the other option. In some instances, it's some of the duplicates of channels, which isn't too bad because I can potentially just use the one that has listings, in other instances, it's a whole block of channels.

Is there a source file for the Freesat EPG? Maybe I could rename the channels to match it in order to get more of the listings to display.

DVB option on Satellite usually gives the Now and Next EPG programmes which is of little use. I started using NextPVR before there was a Freesat EPG option so have never used it. I use EPG Collector which has a Freesat option and produces an XMLTV file which NextPVR can import.

Sky News Arabia is not a Freesat channel so wont have an EPG.
NextPVR Server - HP N54L Microserver, Windows 10 - Storage 2 X 3TB - Tuners DVBSky S952 Twin DVB-S/S2 PCIe, Hauppauge Twin DVB-T2 USB, Telestar Digibit R1 Sat>IP Server.
Clients:- 2 X RPi3, 1 X RPi4 and Acer RL80 Celeron Nettop all running NextPVR New Client on LibreElec.

If you want to do an 'update epg', let it complete, then post your logs, I'll see if anything stands out.

I'll look into that, thanks.

I don't seem to have that option. Whereabouts is it?

Settings->About, click 'Update EPG', let it complete, then click the 'Log Files' button. This will zip up the log files for you, and you can attach them to your post.

Gotcha. Sorry, I was looking in the wrong place.

I can't see any obvious reason in the logs. I can certainly see it's pulling in a reasonable number of listings for some of those channels you've listed above.

2022-08-01 21:47:35.835 [DEBUG][45] - saving 165 listings for channel: Dave

If you scroll ahead to later in the day, or select tomorrow, do you see listings on these channels?

The guide information stops at 7.30pm today (it's now 8.44pm). I'm refreshing the guide to see if it fixes it. Is it best to use the 'Numbers and Identifiers' or the 'Channel Names' for auto-mapping?
