Hello

My TV tuner card has suddenly developed a strange problem.

The card is a Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD Model 1628
NextPVR Version is 6.0.0.220904
OS is Windows 10 Pro x64 21H2 Build 19044.1949
PC components are Gigabyte Aorus Elite B450 Mainboard with AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 Ghz, 64 GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro WX3200 Display Adapter.

NextPVR seems to have forgotten all the channels scanned and saved into the database, I've attempted several rescans, all to no avail,
I've uninstalled and re-installed the driver several times, (a rather complicated procedure, which involves uninstalling and re-installing
a rather large software suite, (when all I want is the latest driver for my device), and I'm at a total loss what to do next.

I'm pretty sure that there's a problem either with the Hauppauge Tuner Card, or the driver is incorrect.  I've been having a lot of difficulty finding
the latest correct driver.

I'm attaching my latest log files, and I would appreciate it if someone could have a look at them and maybe offer some suggestions.

Do you see them listed on your Settings->Channels page?

The logs you posted don't show a scan. Try doing a scan, then reposting the logs.

Here they are.
The only channels it found were the Channel 9 group. 10 channels.
Before this problem developed, there were many more channels, at least 30, of which I had saved about 24.

To clarify did you lose channels or the guide data? Does manual Live TV work?

I've lost channels and guide data.
A large number of channels I had before suddenly disappeared, and the device is finding nothing when it scans the frequency bands, and scheduled recordings are not occurring.
I've just tried watching Channels 9 and 9HD, and they both seem to work OK.

Does the WinTV software that come with your device find the channels? If so, does it show what frequencies it found the channels on?

I'm afraid that I can't tell you that, because it's not installed.
I can't install the software now, because I don't have a working optical drive anymore.
I have never been able to get WinTV to work properly anyway.
I even paid for the upgrade from WinTV 8 to WinTV 10 (it's only $12.50 AUD), but I was never able to get it to show the channels correctly, so I gave up on it.
I'm starting to think that maybe my tuner card is on the way out, but I can't decide whether to replace it with the same model or maybe change to another brand.
I've been reading that TBS cards are pretty good, and they seem to have one that is suitable for Australia, but they're pretty expensive, and nobody stocks them here.
Do you know anything about TBS cards?

I suspect it's a rare problem we occasionally see from Australian users. In that part of the world, they often transmit at +/-125Khz off the frequency, and most tuners take care of this automatically...however there are some that don't.

There is a work around, but it's a bit of effort required. Basically you'd copy the "Australia - All Regions.ini" file to a something like "Australia - All Regions+125.ini" then edit it, setting the name to 'All Regions +125', and edit all the frequencies to add 125. Do the same for "-125" subtracting 125 from the frequency, then scan both of these files.
