The power to our house was out for six hours, and when restored, one cable card had died.  I have two HD Homerun Prime tuners, and verified that one cable card does not work in either tuner, but the other works in both tuners. Each tuner services one PC/NextPVR setup. The one that works shows good status using the Windows tray status tool, and will display the program I am currently attempting to watch.

Right now, it should be recording ABC News (as of when the attached log files were created).  However, I only see a black screen when attempting to view live, and recording just contain a black screen.

I also attached a screenshot of the status window.

I'm sure I must be missing something. Can you help me out?

Thanks,

Mike

Other than telling you it looks like there is a problem with loading all three of your devices via UPnP I am not sure what to suggest. Trying to assign tuners to multiple NextPVR instances can be trouble so maybe get it going with one instance first making sure to disable 2 of 3 tuners. I don't remember how to do this in v4.

Re: number of tuners: Each HDHR has three tuners, I have one PC set up to use the tuners in one HDHR, and the other services a second PC, so each PC has access to three tuners. This has always worked properly with both WMC (back on Win 7) and NextPVR now.

Are there some UPnP settings I could check either in Windows or NextPVR? I have an install log of when I installed Windows on the PC, and the various programs, including NextPVR. I don't see anything about UPnP other than disabling it in the wireless router (back when I was using WMC). I tried setting it both on and off in the router, and that had no effect on the problem.

Sorry I can't help you further I don't remember v4 and I thought you one had one cable card and I don't know how that works in two tuners.

For anyone else in this probably rare situation: The main problem was that I swapped the cable cards between the two HDHRs as a diagnostic step.  This broke the pairing, and I had to call Comcast to get them re-paired.  On the first call, they determined that one cable card had died based on the lack of info about the card in the HDHR web interface, but they re-paired the other.  I exchanged the defective card at the Comcast store, called Comcast again, and they paired that one, so both are now working.

So, don't swap cable cards between tuners unless you want to deal with getting them re-paired.  If one tuner shows that the cable card is not working properly, go into the HDHR internal web server for that tuner and, if it doesn't show basic info about the cable card, exchange the card.

BTW, this incident finally go me to upgrade the PC to the latest version of  NextPVR.

Thanks for checking into this issue for me!

Good news, I wasn't sure you could use the CC in two devices but it didn't seem to be a "normal" state.. Glad you have it sorted and that you are on v6.
