Using xmltv inGB-PVR

Just want to make sure I have this straight.
(I'm in north america)

I run xmltv tv_grab_na --configure

xmltv creates a .conf file

I run xmltv tv_grab_na > whatever.xmltv

Then in gb-pvr configuration I point to whatever.xmltv

If this is correct, am I responsible for periodically updating the .xmltv file myself somehow so that it can get imported into gb-pvr at 3 or 4 am?  Or am I missing a step?

Yes-you are responsible for getting the XMLTV listings to your PC. To make it easy on yourself use this:

XMLTV Automate

It will use Windows Scheduler to run it at whatever time you specify. You must use a user name with a password for this to work properly with the Scheduler. It also incorporates a fix to give you the friendly channel names in your listings. Check the "run fix for U.S. Channel ID's" on the Utilities tab.
