Newbie: MVP not playing videos or music

:confused: Hi All

I've installed a MVP, after using GBPVR for a short time on a newly installed Media PC running XP Pro. Using the Hauppauge SW, the MVP plays movies and music fine. However, if i set the GBPVR as server, i get the GBPVR menu on the MVP, can see all the my files etc, but nothing will play - I just get a blank screen. In some cases the MVP says a song is currently playing, but there is no sound. Its as if the streaming is not happening.

It's probably a simple problem, but I cant see what I've done wrong, and I've been through the forum but cant find a similar error reported.

Did you stop both Hauppauge services? If you only stop one you get behaviour like this. Clicking Start -> Programs -> Hauppauge MediaMVP -> Stop, it'll stop both.

Thanks for the reply, sub, and kudos for a great piece of software.

Unfourtunately, I had set both Haup. services to manual. I ran the stop as you said, but no difference.

Does GBPVR also launch services to operate the MVP, ie 1 to supply the menu and 1 to stream? I only see 1 GBPVR service running.

Maybe a reinstall of GBPVR is required?

Ok, fixed the problem by reinstall, registry editing to remove all gbpvr items, and reinstall. Go figure!
