Channel filters

I have a lot of channels and finding the correct one in the following places is a pain every time:

• in the select menu when adding a manual recording
  
• when viewing the channels page
  

I would appreciate it very much if you could add a filter to both locations. On the channels page it's possible to use the browser's search function (Ctrl+F), but not in the select menu when adding a manual recording.

If you have a keyboard or a remote with numbers, you can type in the specific channel number you want.

Where do you mean? When adding a new manual recording this is not possible, because the channels select menu only contains the names of the channels, not the numbers.

If you know the channel number, you can type it in and press OK or ENTER.  It won't seem like it is working until you hit ENTER or OK.  You would have to know the channel number ahead of time.  It is usually not that hard to look it up beforehand.  If you know approximately where it is, you can enter a number nearby and use LEFT and RIGHT to find the exact channel you want.  If you are doing a lot of manual recordings on various channels, it wouldn't be useful.

FYI, I've made a change to this popup for the next build, so that (with the channel field selected) you can also start typing a channel name and press enter. It checks for a channel number match first, then channel name starting with the text you've typed. For example, typing "sky" and pressing enter will select the 'Sky Open' channel here in NZ.

Sub, is the change to UI clients, web client or both?

@mkomko the UI client that is referenced is on the Settings->UI Client button. When there is no EPG data you can also create a manual recording from the guide which can be filtered. Do have a specific reason for doing manual recording when there is guide data?
